Day 3 - Roncesvalles to Zubiri

Fine, sunny blue skies, 24 degrees celsius.

Total ascent 250m. Plus descent.

Accommodation - Casa Rural Txantxorena

Took suitcase down to get it ready for luggage transfer to the next accommodation by 8am.

Afterwards. I had leisurely breakfast and washed my hair. Bad decision. Did not leave till 10am. Went into the Camino tourist office (another bad decision). Saw a group of students leaving for a 15 kms walk (mine 22 kms) and stopped talking to them (another bad decision). End results not reaching Zubiri till 6pm!

Beautiful easy walking to start with. After 10 minutes, I knew my left knee was not perfect. Must be from yesterday 's steep descent which did no good to my left knee.

Walked past Burguete where Ernest Hemingway stayed here in 1924.

The Spanish students were very inquisitive, stopped looking at everything... and chatting with me. Nice kids.

Steep descent and lots of slippery exposed rocks. With my not so good left knee, it was a struggle.

I had a beautiful room @ Casa Rural Txantxorena which made me feel much better.
