Fine, sunny, blue sky. Max temperature 26 degrees celsius.

18kms. Uphill and downhill.

Accommodation : Hotel Roncesvalles

Uphill not as strenuous as yesterday. Downhill was a killer.

First passed the beautiful Statue

of Virgin Vierge d'Orisson Virge de Biakorri.

More beautiful panoramic and stunning views.

Less tough climb relative to yesterday.

There was a food truck selling drinks and snacks. Offered the last stamp in France. I stopped to have a cold drink of lemon tea. Forgot to take my Pilgrim's Credential out to have it stamped.

Left France and crossed into Spain.

One goes up must come down. Very steep descent. At times, a couple of guys waited and appeared wanting to help. Avoided eye contact and just wished them to leave me alone. The walking poles are all I need. Tough, but very much do-able.

A big relief when I had my first view of Roncesvalles. By then, my left knee hurt! A worrying sign.
